About this clinic

Work at Height (WAH) certifications train and assess the ability of the candidate to access elevated work positions and perform work-at-height operations in climbing facilities according to accepted industry practices and the CWA Work at Height Standard. The program also assesses the candidate's ability to perform a prompt and effective rescue at height.

WAH Level 1 is intended for non-management employees who perform work-at-height tasks. The course focuses on foundational technical skills and risk mitigation, teaching candidates to work efficiently at height while remaining compliant with the CWA WAH Standard.

What this course assesses

  • Perform common work-at-height tasks
  • Assist in rescue activities as directed
  • Identify and avoid common hazards
  • Follow the guidance of more experienced WAH workers

Prerequisites

  • Age 18 or older
  • Able to work on a ladder and lift 50 lbs
  • Can demonstrate climbing for initial access and ascending a rope
